Volunteer opportunity in Arlington

The City of Arlington is working to set up the former Eastern Star Home on Division Street as a long-term shelter for hurrican evacuees. They need volunteers to help get everything ready. If you can help, you need to first go by the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department office to get an ID badge.

Parks and Recreation is located on the northwest corner of Cooper and Main Streets, just north of the UTA campus.

Hurricane Katrina relief

As of Tuesday, September 8, we have the following information regarding hurricane relief efforts.

To donate money, you can give directly to our church and the projects in which we are involved, or we recommend the following agencies actively working in relief projects:

The Baptist General Convention of Texas, Texas Baptist Men, The Red Cross, The Salvation Army.

To volunteer, you can contact the Salvation Army, Mission Arlington, and Texas Baptist Men. The Tarrant Baptist Association is looking for people with reliable transportation who can transport evacuees from shelters to job interviews and/or jobs.
